Tony Ehrenreich a racist clown - Anton Alberts

FF+ MP condemns COSATU WCape PS's call for purge of white civil servants in province

Cosatu's comments that white people will be dismissed from the public service is unconstitutional and racist

The Freedom Front Plus' award for the Clown of the Week goes to Tony Ehrenreich, provincial secretary of Cosatu in the Western Cape, who today told the Cape Argus that more than half of all white public servants will be dismissed if the ANC wins control of the province in the general election (see report)..

Adv. Anton Alberts, the FF Plus' parliamentary spokesperson on Labour, says comments like these are unconstitutional and proof that Cosatu are true racists.

He said that if the FF Plus governs in an opposition coalition in the Western Cape, this party will see to it that Cosatu's grip on the economy in this province is broken so that real economic growth can take place which will free everyone, especially Brown people and the Khoisan, from poverty.

According to the Cape Argus report, Ehrenreich says white people's service will have to be ended within a year, if the ANC governs.

The report says amongst others: "They'll have to go and start their own businesses. They are better placed to start their own businesses because they have both the networks and the historical infrastructure to do this."

According to Adv. Alberts the additional comments Ehrenreich made that "The sunset clauses in relation to jobs are gone" and that "continued white preference" with relation to jobs, should be stopped, is shockingly racist.

"The FF Plus will continue to fight for merit to be used in the workplace, irrespective of colour. In a coalition government in the Western Cape we will also see to it that white and brown people are not subjected to the ANC government's quotas in the workplace which is based on national demographics.

"The most tragic of this oppression of white and brown people is that the country's official opposition, the DA also supports laws about affirmative action and indeed enforces it in the Western Cape," Adv. Alberts says.
