Genocide ongoing in Gaza - COSATU WCape

Tony Ehrenreich says Israel's systematic destruction of territory is a clear attempt to make it uninhabitable

COSATU W Cape condemns the continued attacks on Gaza and calls for decisive action

COSATU condemns the continued attacks on Gaza by the brutal Israeli regime as an act of continuing genocide. The systematic destruction of Gaza is a clear attempt to make the area inhabitable, so that Palestinians are effectively displaced. This destruction of buildings, infrastructure and services is part of the Israeli campaign to cleanse the area for occupation. This is the continuation of the campaign that saw houses and olive plantations destroyed in earlier attacks by the Israeli army.

COSATU will now be calling on its members to refuse to unload any Israeli goods in the Cape Town Harbour and Airports. The targeting of supermarkets will also be launched with a picket at Woolworths in the V&A Waterfront on 6 September 2014.

We can no longer allow the aggression and destruction to go unchallenged and citizens of Cape Town are invited to join the mass action campaign against the Israeli war crimes.

Statement issued by COSATU Western Cape Provincial Secretary, Tony Ehrenreich, August 26 2014
