EFF condemns racist killing of Lindani Myeni in Hawaii

Fighters urge Ramaphosa not to tip toe around this issue in front of his US masters

EFF CONDEMNS THE RACIST KILLING OF RUGBY PLAYER LINDANI MYENI IN HAWAII IN THE UNITED STATES

Saturday, 17 April 2021

The EFF is disgusted by the racist killing of South African rugby player Lindani Myeni. Lindani was shot, unarmed by the racist United States police on a senseless suspicion of robbery.

Lindani Myeni was a rugby player playing for the Jaguars. He had decided to go for a breather at the nearby park. There had earlier been a burglary in the neighbourhood. A racist call was made to 911 reporting Lindani as a suspect. Lindani was sitting in his car peacefully.

When the racist United States police arrived, they never bothered to investigate and ended up shooting him dead.

The EFF last year embarked on a campaign to support the Black Lives Matter movement in the US. This on the basis of the spate of senseless and racist murders of black people in the United States.

Lindani is at least the second case of police harassment of innocent black men in the past week alone. He had no criminal record and was a devoted Christian family man.

The EFF urges Ramaphosa not to tip toe around this issue in front of his masters, the USA authorities. He must demand justice and hold the USA accountable for this senseless killing of Lindani Myeni.

in the fight against this racist country. It is clear that this recent election of Joe Biden which was touted to be the beginning of change in the USA. Clearly this is not so.

We send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Lindani Myeni in KZN. We wish them strength in this difficult time. Lindani is said to have been a calm and peaceful man who did not deserve to die.

The EFF is watching the government of South Africa to do the right thing on this matter. We will hold them to account.
