ANC WCape placed under administration - Patricia de Lille

DA leader says it is a pity Truman Prince was also not suspended, given the dark clouds of criminality hanging over him

Western Cape ANC now officially under administration

01 February 2016

The DA notes that the Western Cape ANC has now officially been put under administration by Luthuli House, with Gwede Mantashe announcing this afternoon that caretakers will be deployed to the Western Cape ANC because it is currently leaderless.

Sending in Luthuli House caretakers to replace the Western Cape ANC Chairperson, Marius Fransman, and the Secretary, Faiez Jacobs, while they are suspended, is an acknowledgement by Luthuli House that the ANC in the Western Cape is in disarray.

Yet the ANC was today silent about the dark clouds of criminality hanging over the head of ANC Mayor Truman Prince, when today the ANC should have done the right thing and suspended Prince.

The ANC in the Western Cape proves time and time again that it puts its own interests before the interests of our people. To the ANC Western Cape, the ANC comes first and everyone else comes second.

The ANC in the Western Cape stands in stark contrast to the DA in the Western Cape; in government we continue to improve the lives of people, through clean and effective governance that delivers opportunities. We represent the values of freedom, fairness and opportunity in all that we do.
