Cyril Ramaphosa must step down - EFF

Fighters say President operating sophisticated money laundering operation

EFF WELCOMES THE FINDINGS OF THE INDEPENDENT PANEL ON PHALA PHALA FARM, WHICH FOUND THAT CYRIL RAMAPHOSA HAS VIOLATED THE CONSTITUTION

Wednesday, 30 November 2022

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) welcomes the damning, scathing and definitive findings by the Independent Panel to establish whether Cyril Ramaphosa has a case to answer regarding Phala Phala Farm, which has essentially found that Ramaphosa has violated his Oath of Office and the Constitution.

In the long-awaited report, the Panel has found that there is prima facie evidence that Ramaphosa has committed the following violations of the Constitution and laws that govern Members of the Executive;

1. A serious violation of sections 96(2)(a) of the Constitution

2. A serious violation of section 34(1) of PRECCA.

3. A serious misconduct in that the President violated section 96(2)(b) by acting in a way that is inconsistent with his office.

4. A serious misconduct in that the President violated section 96(2)(b) of the Constitution by exposing himself to a situation involving a conflict between his official responsibilities and his private business. of the Constitution.

The findings are tantamount to a betrayal of South Africa by a man who has been entrusted with upholding, defending and advancing this country's laws. It is of more concern that the Panel has found that Ramaphosa deliberately had the intention to conceal the crime, by asking Namibian Policing Authorities to handle the investigation of the crime with discretion. This shows that there were underhanded tactics, and the likelihood of abduction and torture gain credibility from the secretive nature of the investigation.

Further to this, the Panel confirms our long held suspicion, that the amount kept in the sofas and furniture of Ramaphosa far exceeds that which was reported, including the dirty money which was given by a Sudanese businessman to Ramaphosa's employees under his instruction under the pretence of purchasing buffaloes. There was no purchase of any animals and this is exposed by the fact that two-years after the so-called purchase, the animals still remain on Phala Phala Farm.

Critically, the Independent Panel has affirmed the long held position by the EFF, which stated that the fact that the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) had to investigate the origins of the millions of foreign currency, means that Ramaphosa did not declare the currency to the SARB. This was exposed through a Parliamentary question posed by the EFF to the SARB.

The EFF re-affirms that Ramaphosa runs a sophisticated money laundering operation in which he uses his employees to avoid direct accountability.

The EFF calls for Cyril Ramaphosa to step down as the President of South Africa and avoid further putting South Africa in the same ranks of a criminal underworld which launders money, tortures human beings and conceals crimes through thuggery and deceit.

If Ramaphosa does not step down, the EFF will expose both him and the ANC, as criminals who have no regard for the domestic and international laws, and completely disrespect the Constitution. The EFF will ensure that Cyril Ramaphosa does not address any platform as the state President, because he forfeited that privilege when he decided to be a Mafia and a Gangster.

Furthermore, that law enforcement agencies and financial regulators, namely the the Office of the Acting Public Protector, the South African Revenue Services (SARS), the National Prosecuting Authority have not released any findings or reports on the crimes committed at Phala Phala Farm is shameful and reveals how deeply Ramaphosa has compromised the institutions of this country.

It is now clear that there is a deliberate cover up of the crimes committed by Ramaphosa and our law enforcement agencies are complicit in protecting a criminal President.

In light of these developments, the EFF will write to the Speaker of Parliament, and request for a secret ballot on a motion of no confidence in Cyril Ramaphosa, on the 06th of December 2022. Thereafter, a new President must be elected by Parliament if Rampahosa does not resign by the 06th December 2022.

The EFF calls on all people of South Africa, the continent and the world to witness Ramaphosa being exposed for his rampant criminality, in the Parliament of South Africa on the 06th of December 2022. The money laundering President of South Africa and his political party will be revealed as defenders of corruption, money laundering, tax evasion, kidnapping, torture and abuse of state resources, to hide his evil deeds.
