False allegations of rape against Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi always nonsensical - EFF

Fighters say SAPS have confirmed he is not a suspect, he was not even at place alleged incident took place

EFF STATEMENT ON NONSENSICAL ALLEGATIONS OF RAPE AGAINST COMMISSAR MBUYISENI NDLOZI.

Monday,12 April 2021

The EFF welcomes the statement by the South African Police Service (SAPS) which emphatically states that "We can confirm that the case of rape that is in reference was indeed opened and is under investigation. While police are not at liberty to disclose or confirm identities of victims/complainants and suspects, we can further confirm that Dr Ndlozi is not a suspect in this case". This confirmation by the SAPS is exactly what we know as the EFF, and can confirm, which is Commissar Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi was not even at the place the alleged incident took place.

We are particularly concerned that amongst other things, the SAPS statement says, "Police hereby place it on record that the reporter behind this article in reference has not sought the comment of the Gauteng Provincial Head of Corporate Communication on this matter even after he was advised to do so. Instead, Amos Mananyetso went ahead and published his story based on, according to the article, the victim's statement, a legal and confidential document that can only have been obtained through unlawful and unethical means". What this means is that the Daily Sun, News24, and Naspers published a defamatory article without verification of facts.

The Daily Sun, which is under News24 and Koos Bekker's stable of racist and establishment media deliberately defamed Commissar Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, knowing very well that not even an withdrawal of the article will lessen the damage done to his reputation. In this regard, the EFF will fully support the legal action against the Daily Sun for deliberately defaming Commissar Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi through illegally acquired documents.

The leadership of the EFF is fully aware that there are coordinated attempts to criminalise leaders of the EFF through false allegations of crime, including rape allegations. There are embedded elements in with the State working with the establishment that are hellbent on linking EFF leadership to crime because they think such will prevent the unavoidable meteoric rise of the EFF to political power here in South Africa. We call on all leaders of the EFF to be on alert because the enemy is out to get us.

We send a very strong caution to the sitting President and his hunting dogs that we will fight with everything in our power to counter the unlawful and below the belt methods to fight political battles. We caution the sitting President because we are fully aware that attempts to destroy the integrity of the EFF and its leadership is done to protect Cyril Ramaphosa and his faction which exists to please white people. We are a generation that will not be abused and pushed around by apartheid agents and infiltrators of the liberation cause. We will fight back and we will be victorious.

The crisis of Gender Based Violence and Rape is a huge problem in South Africa and must never be used to fight political battles. The sitting Government and the ruling party must caution their hunting dogs to stop using false allegations of GBV and rape to fight narrow political and factional battles. Society as a whole should reject the nonsensical misuse of the struggle against GBV and rape for political battles. It is unacceptable and must stop.

We encourage Commissar Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi to remain strong and focused and continue with the economic excellent work he is doing on the ground and in Parliament. All these shenanigans will soon be exposed for what they are.
