High court rebuffs Lindiwe Sisulu - SASFU

Bhekinkosi Mvovo says dismissal of 1,200 soldiers ruled unconstitutional

VICTORY FOR THE WORKERS IN THE DEFENCE FORCE

The Pretoria high court has ruled that the suspension and intended dismissal of 1200 soldiers by the Minister of Defence Force, ms Lindiwe Sisulu, is unconstitutional.

The minister has been instructed to resolve this matter with the unions at the Military Bargaining Council.

We believe that the judgment reaffirms that the SA Constitution as the highest law in the country and it must be respected by all those that have been elected to manage the state.  It is now time that we must all forget about the de-unionisation of the SANDF, as this fight proves to be costly and unachievable.

Forward to a strong Military Bargaining Council that will resolve labour disputes whilst making sure that the Defence Force achieves its constitutional mandate as a disciplined military force.
