COSATU congratulates the newly-elected ANC leadership collective

19 December 2022

The Congress of South African Trade Unions ( COSATU)congratulates the newly elected ANC leadership collective and wish them well in their new positions of responsibility. It is important for  the new leadership hits the ground running and focus on uniting the ANC, dismantling factions and cleansing the organization of corruption and unhealthy foreign practices. The country needs a united, coherent and sober ANC.

We look forward to robust engagements with the ANC and the SACP on the radical reconfiguration of the Alliance. The 2024 elections are around the corner, so we don’t have time to waste.

It is critical that this leadership provides  a clear direction to government to pursue a people centred development agenda. They need to intensify the fight against corruption and state capture, rebuild the state’s capacity to deliver quality public service, help Eskom end loadshedding, and tackle corruption.

The newly elected ANC leadership needs to guide its government to focus on stimulating the economy, slashing unemployment and reducing poverty.
The upcoming ANC January 08 message should set the tone for the upcoming financial year for government and five year program for the organisation.

We wish all leaders well in their respective tasks and hope they deliver on their mandates
