Ramaphosa must fall on his own sword, or forced out - MKMVA

Association urges President to act with some semblance of integrity and go

MKMVA CALLS FOR CYRIL RAMAPHOSA TO FALL ON HIS OWN SWORD, AND IF HE FAILS TO DO SO FOR HIM TO BE FORCED TO RESIGN FORTHWITH

Thursday, 1 December 2022

The Umkhonto We Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) warmly welcomes the principled and courageous findings of the Report of the Section 98 Inquiry Panel (popularly known as the Independent Panel), that was chaired by retired Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo, to Parliament.

The findings of the Independent Panel that Cyril Ramaphosa has a very serious prima facie case to answer with regards to the Phala Phala farm gate scandal confirms the long held view of MKMVA, which we have expressed publicly on numerous occasions, that Ramaphosa has committed serious crimes, in addition to having violated his Presidential Oath in the most flagrant manner, and that he has a serious case to answer.

MKMVA commends comrade Arthur Fraser for his principled and courageous patriotic act to have brought criminal charges against Ramaphosa, and for having brought the serious violations and crimes of Ramaphosa to the public attention of all South Africans.

MKMVA now urges Cyril Ramaphosa to act with some semblance of integrity, and to save the African National Congress (ANC) and all of South Africa further embarrassment and international humiliation, by doing the right thing and to fall on his own sword, and to resign immediately. There should actually not even be a need for a Parliamentary process to impeach Ramaphosa, he must just resign!

Consequently MKMVA calls on the ANC Integrity Commission to for once show backbone, and integrity, and to stop beating around the bush, by demanding the immediate recall of Cyril Ramaphosa.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ANC must convene an emergency NEC meeting forthwith, and recall Ramaphosa. Nothing less will suffice! Such a step is perfectly within the powers of the ANC, and can be done immediately. The ANC NEC has in recent times twice recalled ANC Presidents.

Thus, MKMVA calls on every single member of the ANC who are concerned about saving the ANC, and ensuring that the ANC will be able to regain its revolutionary integrity and again become the Leader of Society, to mobilise and insist that the ANC NEC must immediately recall Ramaphosa. Evidently under the circumstances Ramaphosa does not qualify to be a delegate to the ANC 55th National Conference, and he can certainly not be a candidate for ANY NEC position.

It is inescapable, and critical, for the ANC Elections Committee, chaired by former President Kgalema Motlanthe, to immediately review Ramaphosa’s candidature for the presidency of the ANC, and to remove him with immediate effect from the list of nominations.

MKMVA furthermore calls on all South Africans to exert maximum pressure on the South African Police Service (SAPS), South African Revenue Service (SARS), the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) and the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) to immediately act on the Phala Phala farm criminal scandal, and to hold Cyril Ramaphosa accountable. As should be the case with every South African citizen Ramaphosa cannot be above the law, and justice must be seen to be done.

MKMVA stands ready to initiate, and support, any campaign meant to exert maximum pressure that Cyril Ramaphosa must immediately resign.

#RamaphosaMustGo! A LUTA CONTINUA!
