Phumla Williams says this is due to preparations for Nelson Mandela's state funeral this week (Dec 9)

Postponement of the release of the government Task Team Report into security upgrades at Presidential Houses at Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal

09 Dec 2013

Government is aware of the undertaking it gave recently to release the report of the Inter-Ministerial Task Team investigation into security upgrades at President Jacob Zuma's houses at Nkandla.

Last week, Cabinet deliberated on the presentation by the Minister of Public Works on the Inter-Ministerial Task Team report.

Cabinet endorsed the recommendations and directed that the report be released to the public. The Security Cluster Ministers and the Minister of Public Works were due to hold a media briefing tomorrow, Tuesday 10 December 2013, to release the document.

However, in view of preparations for the State Funeral of former President Nelson Mandela, government is unable to release the report this week.

A new date for this release will be communicated in due course.
