The DA in KZN is ready to make history in election 2021

6 September 2021

The Democratic Alliance in KwaZulu-Natal is pleased to announce that we have today released our candidate lists for the upcoming local government elections.

For the first time in our history, the DA will be contesting all 901 wards in the province. This is a reflection on how much the party has grown in KZN as well as the interest showed by the public to stand as DA councillors.

The DA prides itself on having the most fair and transparent candidate selection, and the results speak volumes in that we are able to submit our lists on time, without violence, stay-aways or threats of election boycotts.

Our candidates represent the full spectrum of KZN, from experience in local government and the private sector, to gender, race and ethnicity.

We believe that given a chance in these upcoming elections, our candidates will join the work in DA-run governments to bring real change and get things done.

The DA remains optimistic about our chances in KZN, especially in winning an outright majority in the uMngeni Municipality, with only 9% more needed to secure victory.

We are more determined than ever to have our first municipality in the province and show everyone what the DA difference is all about.

The DA in KZN is united and focused on this election like never before. We have a strategy in place which we will spend every day relentlessly executing, led by our Provincial Leader, Francois Rodgers.

In the coming days, the DA KZN Leader will hit the campaign trail and will join our Councillors, aspirant candidates, Members of Parliament and Members of the Provincial Legislature to ensure we take our offer to every village, town and city in the province.

We are ready to get things done!
