DA submits lists to IEC, challenges ANC to make lists public

Today the Democratic Alliance submitted our party lists for the 2014 national and provincial elections to the Independent Electoral Commission.

The lists represent the most diverse and talented team that we have ever put forward for an election.

Unlike the ANC, we are proud to make our lists public today. The full lists can be viewed here.

In this election we are asking each South African to make a critical choice about their future, about the state of service delivery and about who has the best policy for job creation.

The voters deserve to know who they are voting for.

We challenge the ANC to make its party lists public and announce its Premier candidates for each province.

In this election, South Africans have a choice between voting for a government that will create jobs and cut corruption or for another 5-years of corruption and unemployment under Jacob Zuma's ANC.

From Premier candidates to members of parliament, DA voters now know exactely who they would be asking to represent their interests in public office.

There are 58 days left until South Africans go to the polls on 7 May 2014.

The DA is confident that with this group of dynamic individuals submitted to the IEC today, we can bring the change that Gauteng and South Africa so desperately needs come May 2014.

Statement issued by Mmusi Maimane, DA Gauteng Premier Candidate, March 10 2014
