MAYORAL CANDIDATE OF CITY OF TSHWANE

African National Congress Women’s League in the Gauteng Province endorses the decision of the ANC

NEC to choose Comrade Angela Thoko Didiza as the Mayoral Candidate for City of Tshwane Metropolitan Council. Today the ANCWL PEC is happy that the mayoral candidate is a leader who has demonstrated and respected leader of society. Having served in the religious, NGO’s and economic development sectors. That wealth of experience will be contributed to inclusive growth of the people of Tshwane.

The ANC has non- racial, non-sexist, united, democratic and prosperous principles. These principles cannot be compromised at any given time, the ANC want to change the way society functions by appointing women leaders in position of power as decision makers not as followers who are relegated to the kitchen. We must remember that under Apartheid all Black and White women were not allowed to occupy any position of power..

The ANC is a uniting organization that fought against the division of our people even way back in 1912 when it was formed, it ended tribal conflicts and united all ethnic groups that all tribal groups should leave together in peace and respect each other, that is why in the South African Constitution preamble says South Africa belongs to all who leave in it.

Comrade Angela Thoko Didiza is born in RSA. She is a competent comrade , she participate actively in her branch, BET and Zonal Election Management Teams, with skills in different fields , deployed by the African National Congress to serve our people and to push back the frontiers of the oppression of our people as specially the African women.

As women we continue to strive to ensure that women are given space to lead as they have rare leadership capabilities. We continue to ensure 50/50 representation is adhered to in decision making structure and disappointed to see regression over the time. We are happy one of the most important cities is to be led by a woman Leader of her caliber.

We call upon all Women in structures of the organizations, young women, CBO”s, NGO’s, Business, Professionals to rally around and ensure overwhelming support that will deliver ANC victory in Tshwane.
