An agreement which ended the Comair strike by 400 UASA ground staff members has been reached after an intervention by the CCMA.
A three year deal has been concluded whereby ground staff will get a 10% salary adjustment for 2016, which will be backdated to 1 January 2016. In 2017, ground staff will get a 7% adjustment and 6% in 2018.
The above are the broad terms of the agreement and the remainder will be communicated to members in detail during the course of the day, says Jannem Goussard, Operations Manager responsible for the UASA Aviation sector workers..
While today, 20 April 2016 has been agreed to as a paid cooling off day, all members must resume their normal shift patterns as fromThursday 21 April 2016. It has also been agreed with Comair that briefings will be held upon returning to work to assist with reintegration.
