Businessman says PL's vision is aligned with the values enshrined in our Constitution, namely a non-racial, non-sexist, free society

Mashaba backs Maimane

30 April 2015

Celebrated entrepreneur and Black Like Me founder Herman Mashaba has publicly endorsed Mmusi Maimane’s candidacy for DA Federal Leader.

Mr Mashaba had this to say about Maimane:

“As a member of the Democratic Alliance, I endorse Mmusi Maimane’s bid for leadership of the DA. Leadership is about commitment to the party and the nation. In all the years I have known Mmusi, he has demonstrated his keen allegiance to the country and its people. He has pledged himself to developing entrepreneurship and job creation, which are the key drivers of economic success.

Maimane’s bid for leadership comes at a time when leadership in South Africa is sorely lacking. I offer my full support to his bid, confident that his vision is aligned with the values enshrined in our Constitution, namely a non-racial, non-sexist, free society. I believe that he will strengthen the party and will be a great asset to rebuilding a nation that every South African can enjoy living in.”

This endorsement is fully aligned with Maimane’s vision for the Democratic Alliance. Herman Mashaba embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that Maimane believes must be tapped into if South Africa is to achieve its economic potential.

There is a groundswell of support mounting behind Maimane’s candidacy, both inside and outside the party. Maimane is the only candidate that can grow the DA’s support base by connecting with South Africans of all backgrounds.
