DA WCape leader says yesterday's chaotic Cape Town march was planned, organised and led by the ANC

Marius Fransman is lying to the public

The ANC must take responsibility for the march its leaders organised yesterday in Cape Town. The DA notes attempts by the ANC this morning to blame the EFF for organising the march.

It is obvious for all to see that the march was planned, organised and lead by the ANC.

Many members of the crowd wore ANC t-shirts. A number of sitting and former ANC councillors attended and lead the march, including Andile Lili and Loyiso Nkohla. Mcebisi Skwatsha - a well-known ANC leader -addressed the crowd and entered the legislature building demanding to see the Premier.

Loyiso Nkohla is also widely quoted encouraging people to loot the Cape Town CBD.

Marius Fransman is blatantly lying to the public if he suggests this march was not organised by the ANC.

The ANC must take responsibility and discipline its members involved in this incident. The responsible parties will also be held financially liable.

The ANC has no control over its members because of an absence of leadership. The ANC will lose more votes in next year's election as a result of their violent and criminal behaviour.

On Tuesday, the IEC called on all political parties to conduct themselves peacefully in the run-up to the election. It is clear that the ANC in the Western Cape has no intention of complying with the IEC's code of conduct.

Today the DA in the Western Cape will lay a charge of incitement to commit a crime against the ANC councillor Loyiso Nkohla in the light of the inflammatory statements that he made over the weekend.
