Martin Visser: White racists rule with terror on farms - EFF

Fighters says EWC will lead to exposure of many graves of murdered black farm workers

THE EFF WELCOMES THE JUDGEMENT METED OUT TO LUTZVILLE FARMER MARTIN VISSER

Wednesday, 15 August, 2018

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) welcomes the judgement and sentencing by Judge Nathan Erasmus today at the Western Cape High Court which found the racist white farmer from Lutzville, Martin Visser, guilty for the brutal, senseless and hateful murder of Adam Pieterse. Martin Visser was then sentenced to life imprisonment.

We welcome this judgement in the hope that more white farm murderers will be brought to book by our criminal justice system. Too many deaths of black farm workers at the hands of white racist farmers are unaccounted for. Our police often never follow up with rigor the loss of black lives in the farms; resulting in contributing to the general neglect of farm workers to even report injustice or cooperate with authorities to expose human rights violations.

Adam Pieterse suffered in the hands of this racist monster, Martin Visser, who beat him with a spade, dragged him with a quadbike, mutilated his genitals and perineum (the area between the anus and the scrotum) after his death and then buried him behind his farm almost three years ago.

The reality is that many white owned farms in South Africa still operate in state of lawlessness where black people remain without basic rights characteristic of colonial times. The lives of black people continue to be assaulted, burned, tortured, exploited and killed with impunity by white racists who believe themselves to be above the law.

White racists reign and express their anti-black racism with no shame in these spaces. They rule with terror and many black people that work and live there are terrified because the arms of justice do not reach them.

The day land is expropriated and many of these farms actually get to be open to public security and assessment, we will find many unidentified graves of black farm workers killed in the absolute pleasure of white racist entertainment.

We reiterate our heartfelt condolences to the family of Adam "Mannetjie Dukvreet" Pieterse, and may his soul rest in perfect peace. May it finally find dignity and tranquility, knowing that his murderer will never again walk the African streets.
