No sign of R246m having been sensibly used at Nkandla - Corné Mulder

FF Plus MP says craftsmanship observed during the visit by MPs was of consistently poor quality

Local visit confirms serious questions about Nkandla

22 July 2015

A visit to the Nkandla compound today, confirmed that various disturbing questions about the whole Nkandla development has to be answered urgently, Dr. Corné Mulder, the chief whip of the FF Plus said.

Dr. Mulder said this is the only conclusion that he can come to following a visit and inspection lasting more than three hours at the Nkandla compound by the relevant ad-hoc committee.

“More than R246 million was spent, but there is absolutely no sign of the money being used sensibly.

“What is furthermore disturbing is that various projects have not been completed, which will inevitably bring about further costs.

“The craftsmanship observed during the visit was consistently of a poor quality. The public has good reason to be seriously concerned about what had transpired at Nkandla,” Dr. Mulder said.
