"Lightning muthi war!" - Daily Sun

"Neighbours Monica and Mmami just can't stop clashing!" - front page lead, February 10 2015

Daily Sun (February 10 2015) - MONICA said it was her neighbour's fault that a naked woman fell from the heavens and landed on her roof.

Mmami said she knows nothing about a naked woman but she does know that her daughters can't find husbands.

AND EACH WOMAN IS ACCUSING THE OTHER OF EVIL DEEDS TO MAKE THE OTHER'S LIFE HELL!

There is no evidence that there was ever a naked woman, but the war between the neighbours still rages.

Monica Mokemane (39) told Daily Sun Mmami Ramphala (33), her neighbour from across the road, accuses her of evil.

"She said it is because of me that her daughters are not getting married," said Monica from Deneysville, in the Free State.

"Mmami threatened to kill us all with lightning."

Monica said the threats continued for two months. "And then one day we escaped death when lightning struck a tree in the yard," she said.

"I was sitting on the stoep at the time."

She ran into the house to check on her children.

"It was a big bang. But God was with us and we all survived. Only the tree died."

But the next day it happened again.

"Lightning struck a second tree in the yard. The tree was destroyed," she said, pointing to the burnt trees.

Monica also accused Mmami of putting muthi in her yard that makes her fight with her friends. She said she has been to the cops a number of times.

"But then they arrest me even though I'm the victim! I was arrested three times last year but there is no case against me."

She said sometimes her neighbour throws stones on her roof to scare them when they are trying to sleep.

"All I want is for this evil neighbour to leave me alone."

Mmami said she has nothing to do with Monica's suffering.

"Monica is the one telling people I am evil. I have never done anything to her," said Mmami. "I know nothing about muthi and I don't know anything about making lightning, never mind lightning that strikes the same house twice in two days."

Mmami said she is very angry because Monica accuses her and her daughters of being magoshas.

"She said we are all magoshas who sell our bodies for a living since because no one is working in our house."

Mmami said Monica has no proof that she is doing evil things.

"I'm tired of fighting. She must get me arrested or she must bring a sangoma so we can find out the truth," she said.
