HOSPITAL SHIVERS WITHOUT HEATING

The South Rand Hospital in south Johannesburg has been without steam for a week, so there is no heating for patients this cold winter.

Staff and patients have had to cope without hot water.

The problem is that the boiler supplier has not been paid for several months, so they have stopped supplying diesel to run it.

Hospital patients in Gauteng have suffered for too long because of unpaid suppliers.

It is an unacceptable situation that must be rectified as soon as possible.
