Criminal charge filed against Tony Ehrenreich

TAU SA filed a criminal charge against the general secretary of Cosatu in the Western Cape .

In the affidavit that was submitter on behalf of TAU SA, Mr. Henk van de Graaf referred to media reports in which Ehrenreich threatens that farmers' land will be taken away from them if they would dismiss their workers.

In January this year, Ehrenreich also threatened that "a war about land" would start soon. "TAU SA and its members believe that this amounts to intimidation and even implies the violent grabbing of farms, as there is no statutory procedure whereby farms simply can be seized," said Mr van de Graaf in his affidavit.

"Ehrenreich has also been involved in previous strikes in the agricultural industry, which sparked violence and where farmers suffered tremendous damages.TAU SA believes that statements like these can result to incitement to violence against farmers and their property and that the matter therefore must be fullyinvestigated in order to institute prosecution," the statement says.
