The African National Congress has met with Comrade Aaron Motsoaledi, the Minister of Health, this morning following the gravely concerning reports in the Sowetan Newspaper of the death of 9 babies at the Maphutha L. Malatji Hospital, Limpopo. The reports today contain serious allegations of negligence and mismanagement, prompting the need for urgent and decisive intervention.

The African National Congress is committed to the improvement of the quality of public health services and therefore welcomes Comrade Motsoaledi's intervention in this regard.
