Cyril Ramaphosa stepping down from boards of Lonmin and Mondi

Latter company says ANC DP has reviewed his business commitments will resign as joint chairman in May

Mondi Joint Chairman

Cyril Ramaphosa, joint chairman of Mondi Limited and Mondi plc, will be stepping down at the conclusion of the Annual General Meetings on 3 May 2013.

Following his election as deputy president of South Africa's ruling African National Congress in December 2012, Cyril has reviewed his business commitments and has now advised Mondi that he wishes to resign from his positions as joint chairman and as a non-executive director at the Annual General Meetings of Mondi Limited and Mondi plc on 3 May 2013.

Anne Quinn, senior independent director, supported by the DLC nominations committee, will immediately start the process of seeking a successor to Cyril.

David Williams, joint chairman, said: ‘We would like to thank Cyril for his significant contribution to the Mondi Group. He has helped guide Mondi through its initial years of listing and played an important role in providing constructive counsel particularly on issues specific to the South African business environment.'

Mondi is an international packaging and paper Group, with production operations across 29 countries and revenues of EUR5.7 billion in 2011. The Group's key operations are located in central Europe, Russia and South Africa and as at the end of 2011, Mondi Group employed 23,400 people.

The Group was also included in the FTSE350 Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index for the second year.

 REGULATORY RELEASE - DIRECTORATE CHANGE

Cyril Ramaphosa has informed the Board of Lonmin Plc that he will not be standing for re-election as a non-executive Director at the Company's forthcoming Annual Meeting on 31 st January 2013. Mr Ramaphosa was elected as Deputy President of South Africa's ruling African National Congress in December 2012.

Lonmin's Chairman, Roger Phillimore, thanked Cyril Ramaphosa for his commitment to Lonmin over a demanding period. "The wisdom of his contributions has been invaluable to the Company, and we will miss his measured but forceful participation in our affairs" he said. "On behalf of our shareholders, I would like to convey our very best wishes to him in his new and important role."

There are no other matters which require disclosure under the Disclosure and Transparency and Listing Rules of the London Stock Exchange or under the listing requirements of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
