Paul Madison shot and killed - AfriForum

Ernst Roets says latest farm murder one more reason for Nathi Mthethwa to act

Yet another farm murder: Mthethwa must answer

AfriForum appealed to the Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa, to explain to the public why he is refusing to intervene in the farm murder crisis. This after yet another farmer was murdered on a farm outside Sabie in Mpumalanga.

Paul Madison (63) and his wife, Gwyneth Madison (58) were attacked on their farm Kruisfontein yesterday morning. Gwyneth was tied up in the house, after which Paul was shot dead in the garden. The gardener, whose name is not known, was also tied up and thrown into a pit latrine.

AfriForum appealed to the public to bring their pleas for prioritizing farm murders to the attention of Mthethwa by visiting the websitewww.hoelanknog.co.za and signing the electronic petition. Every time the petition is signed, the website will automatically send an e-mail to Mthethwa's office. More than 10 000 members of the public have already submitted e-mails to Mthethwa in this manner.

Ernst Roets, Deputy CEO of AfriForum, added that the organisation will send a delegation to the United Nations Forum for Minority Issues in November where a presentation on farm murders will be done. "Mthethwa's refusal to act borders on collusion."
