Ramphele, Zille embark on ‘Together for Change' road show -DA

Leaders say they have been overwhelmed with positive response to Tuesday's announcement

‘Together for Change' Road Show

On Tuesday this week, we made the historic announcement that Dr Mamphela Ramphele will stand as the DA's Presidential Candidate in the 2014 Election.

We have been overwhelmed with the positive response from South Africans of all walks of life. It is clearer than ever that people are looking for a strong non-racial alternative to make fundamental and positive change in our country.

We are excited today to announce our campaign plans for the next two weeks.

This Monday, 3 February, we mark the 24th anniversary of the announcement of Nelson Mandela's release from prison with a press conference to be held in Johannesburg. At the press conference, the DA will formally welcome Dr Ramphele and members of Agang SA.

On Tuesday, 4 February, we will embark on the ‘Together for Change' road show to start with the ‘March for Six Million Real Jobs' on that day in Johannesburg. From there, we will travel across the country to engage with South Africans in all communities, and showcase our shared vision of the future - a place where every person has the freedom and means to achieve their dreams.

During this time, the technical committee will be meeting to finalise arrangements to integrate our respective parties. When their work is complete, we will be in a position to make a public announcement on the details of this historic partnership.
