ANC supporters ambush and stone DA buses - Mmusi Maimane

DA GPC says bus driver hospitalised and 3 buses badly damaged

ANC stones DA busses en route to We Can Win Concert, driver hospitalized

4 May 2014

Police are interviewing hundreds of DA supporters who were the victims of ANC ambushes this morning when their busses were stoned enroute to the We Can Win Concert in Soweto.

Over 8000 DA supporters are gathering at Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown for the We can Win concert to celebrate our prospects of winning Gauteng on 7 May.

Two severe stoning attacks have so far occurred in Alexandra and the FNB stadium vicinity.

A bus driver has been hospitalized and 3 busses badly damaged. One bus was so heavily stoned that it is no longer usable.

The ANC are clearly panicking at the prospect of losing Gauteng. But there is no excuse for endangering the lives of our supporters.

The DA calls on the SAPS to arrest the thugs who attacked our supporters and damaged vehicles this morning.

Statement issued by Mmusi Maimane, DA Gauteng Premier Candidate, May 4 2014
