ANCYL condemns pathetic M&G report

Youth League says Mandy Rossouw concocted a nonsensical report

ANC YL CONDEMNS THE MAIL & GUARDIAN PATHETIC REPORT ABOUT THE ANC YOUTH LEAGUE

The African National Congress Youth League condemns the disgusting report (titled ANC Youth League targets Mantashe) by the Mail & Guardian (15 January 2010), which suggests that the ANC YL has entered into a succession debate for the ANC 2012 National Conference and therefore isolating the ANC Secretary General. It is quite apparent that the pathetic Journalist (Mandy Rassouw) who wrote the article is not only sick, but chose to concoct stories about the ANC YL in an attempt to divert the ANC's attention to address social and economic transformation issues.

The Mail & Guardian Journalist who wrote the story is renowned for writing nonsensical and negative stories about the ANC YL, and its leadership. In the recent report, Mandy Rossouw concocted a story and claims to have information from faceless ANC YL sources, whilst there is no one in the leadership or membership of the ANC YL who spoke to her. The ANC YL will lodge an official complaint with relevant authorities to expose the crooked Journalists of the Mail & Guardian, who claim to have sources, whilst they sit in Newsrooms and concoct divisive, sometimes dangerous stories about the ANC, the alliance and its leadership.

Once again, the ANC YL places on record the reality that the organisation has not begun with any discussion around leadership succession in the ANC. When the ANC YL begins the leadership succession debate, it will neither be secretive, nor communicated to Journalists through faceless people. The ANC YL will forever stick to principles of the organisation and will never isolate any of the leaders of the organisation. We support the entire leadership of the ANC and will work with them in building a stronger, better and more vibrant organisation.
