Committee also passed motion of no confidence in provincial secretary Johan Mkhatshwa

Mpumalanga ANC Youth League media statement

The ANC Youth League Provincial Executive Committee of Mpumalanga in its special PEC meeting held at the District offices of Ehlanzeni on the 24th of November 2011 resolved to suspend three of its members, pending the outcomes of the disciplinary processes, on charges ranging from defying decisions of the PGC held in May to undermining and insulting the elected leadership of the ANC Youth League.

These comrades were suspended with effect from the date of the meeting in subject on the range of charges as stated above. The meeting further noted that the reprimanding structures of the League in this regard could not proceed smoothly due to these comrades' continued presence and interference.

The meeting further resolved to pass a motion of no confidence in cde Johan Mkhatshwa, the Provincial Secretary of the Youth League in the province. This resolution is based on the total loss of confidence in the said office resulting in the malfunctioning of the organization in the province.

Cde Johan as a paid fulltime functionary of the organization failed dismally to exercise duties bestowed upon him by the constitution. His behavioural patterns in office amounted to dereliction of duty and insubordination amongst other misdemeanours. He has therefore vacated his seat immediately as PS and will remain an ordinary member of the Youth league.

The DC process begins with immediate effect as resolved by the PEC.
