uMkhonto we Sizwe Party condemns the assassination of cde Vusumuzi Blesser Ndlovu

4 March 2024

uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) Party has learned with great shock and trepidation the assassination of cde Blesser Ndlovu by unknown assailants.

In what appears to be an assassination, cde Vusumuzi Blesser Ndlovu was shot at point blank range at or near the Tehuis hostel in Umlazi Saturday evening the 02 March 2024. The callousness of his murder leaves us cold but will not deter us to freeing our country from the shackles of apartheid colonialism.

Cde Vusumuzi Blesser Ndlovu was the coordinator of the MK Party in Ward 74 in the eThekwini (Durban) municipality in KwaZulu-Natal.

uMkhonto we Sizwe Party condemns, in the strongest terms, this dastardly act and urges the law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned in apprehending and bringing to book those criminals that are responsible for this barbarism.

Without pre-empting the investigation, this cowardly act seems like the highest form of political intolerance as it happened when cde Blesser was returning from executing the political programme of MK Party.

This criminality is extremely worrying as it happens against the backdrop of inflammatory pronouncements by the leadership of the ANC directed at uMkhonto we Sizwe Party and some ANC members having attacked our members during the recent bi-elections in uPongolo in KwaZulu-Natal.

Once again, we call upon leaders and members of political parties to act responsibly and resist the temptation to make reckless statements that can inflame the situation and raise political temperatures.

uMkhonto we Sizwe Party further urges their members to remain calm and allow investigations to be undertaken and the law to take its cause.

There must not only be justice for cde Blesser and other victims of crime, whether political or otherwise but, it must also be concretely seen to be done.

Cde Blesser's murder is one murder too many, especially in a province that has seen countless murders with many remaining unsolved.

Law enforcement agencies and communities must not spare any effort and energy to end this scourge of out-of-control crime that has seen South Africans senselessly and needlessly losing their precious lives and possessions.

uMkhonto we Sizwe Party will be in the forefront of the fight against crime by mobilizing communities to unite and establish street and other committees as part of ridding ourselves of crime and claiming back our Streets from these ruthless barbarians.

uMkhonto we Sizwe Party dips its revolutionary banner in honour of our selfless cadre, cde Vusumuzi Blesser Ndlovu, who needlessly lost his life at its prime. A committed activist for land repossession, economic emancipation, free education, access to clean, drinking water, decent sanitation and an end to loadshedding, is a huge loss to not only uMkhonto we Sizwe Party but also our country. He loved his people and country. Hence, he joined uMkhonto we Sizwe Party to pursue the struggle to truly liberate our country and remove the burden of landlessness, poverty, racial and class domination and economic exclusion from the African majority in particular and blacks in general.

We express our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and comrades. To the Ndlovu family: you are not alone during these trying times! uMkhonto we Sizwe Party stands with you and we will immortalize cde Blesser's memory by renaming his ward once MK Party is overwhelmingly elected into office after the upcoming national and provincial elections on the 29 May 2024.

The struggle to decolonise our country continues!

Everything for the Revolution and nothing against it!
