Assault allegations against Malema false - EFF

Fighters say claims are malicious and intended to dent the reputation of the CIC

EFF Statement on false accusations that the cic is being investigated on charges of common assault

26, February, 2014

Economic Freedom Fighters has observed and received media enquiries claiming that the Commander in Chief is being investigated on charges of common assault and malicious damage to property. These allegedly relates to a road rage incident in Polokwane, yesterday (see Beeld report).

After long enquiries and waiting to hear from authorities without any avail, EFF has concluded that these allegations are false. Thus, EFF dismisses these claims as malicious and only intend to negatively dent on the CIC's reputation.

Firstly, the whole day the CIC has not received any police indication to confirm that there is an investigation. Secondly, the recent reports are saying the charges were withdrawn on mistaken identity. EFF places on record that these are false allegations and must as a result be treated as such.
