BLF must face full power of the law – AfriBusiness

Organisation says they will not entertain threat of land grabs

AfriBusiness takes a hit at Black First Land First’s threats over land

7 October 2016

The organisation Black First Land First (BLF), who threatens to grab land in South Africa in the same manner than that of Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe, is an empty shell who has to face the full power of the law.

This is the opinion of Stefan Pieterse, Spokesperson of the business rights movement AfriBusiness.

AfriBusiness reacted to remarks by Andile Mngxitama, leader of the BLF, who said that South African land should be taken back violently just like Mugabe had done.

He and his followers marched to the Pretoria offices of the Adv. Thuli Madonsela, the Public Protector, after she had apparently refused to investigate a report claiming that the apartheid government had stolen R26 billion from the Reserve Bank.

Mngxitama claims that the money was stolen by white people and should be paid back to finance free education, among other things. He was arrested by police in July this year at Madonsela’s office after he and about 22 members caused trouble.

Pieterse says with reference to the BLF’s treats that AfriBusiness has removed many illegal land grabbers in various provinces of South Africa with the help of the Police, Sheriffs and the Red Ants.

“We will not entertain the group’s threats. They are breaking the law and will feel the full might of the Law. We have successfully completed many a court case to prevent land grabs and will do it again by protecting our members’ rights,” says Pieterse.

AfriBusiness encourages the public to immediately report illegal land grabs.
