The DA welcomes the Western Cape Government’s efforts to build strong relations with various stakeholders in order to build energy resilience in the province and end loadshedding.

Today, Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde, hosted the Cabinet Meets Business gathering, where local and provincial governments met with role players in the energy sector, in efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships and ultimately resolve the energy crisis.

We cannot afford loadshedding to continue indefinitely. South Africans are already struggling to make ends meet, and loadshedding adds to their burden.

DA-run governments in the Western Cape have proven that through commitment and innovation, energy resilience can be developed. The DA therefore believes that collaborative engagements such as the Cabinet Meets Business is a step in the right direction, creating further possibilities in our efforts to stabilize energy provision.
