Technicians have worked to restore power following Kwaggasrand substation fire

City of Tshwane working around the clock to ensure that non-load shedding power outages are fixed

12 December 2019

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng would like to commend the City of Tshwane officials and Councillors for working tirelessly to ensure that residents affected by power outages not related to the current load shedding have their power restored.

This despite, Gauteng MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Lebogang Maile trying to paint the City of Tshwane as being dysfunctional.

Some parts of the City of Tshwane are experiencing power outages due to both load shedding and the rain experienced over the past few days.

Technicians worked around the clock to ensure that residents affected by the fire at the Kwaggasrand substation had their power restored.

All our Councillors have been visiting areas in their wards that have been affected by non-load shedding power outages to assess the situation and ensure that the power is restored as soon as possible.

Where residents are still without electricity, we appeal to them to please remain patient as the technicians are doing their utmost to restore the electricity

I would like to thank all our Councillors for their hard work over the last few days to ensure that the needs of our residents are attended to.

The DA-led City of Tshwane is committed to ensuring that residents get the service delivery they deserve.
