COSATU congratulates the Labour Party Leader in Britain

16 September 2015

The Congress of South African Trade Unions congratulates Mr Jeremy Corbyn as the elected leader of Britain’s Labour Party.

COSATU has noted the huge mandate given to Mr Corbyn by the people who has been described as ‘the most leftwing’ leaders in its history.

COSATU agrees with his sentiments that ‘people are fed up with the injustices and the inequality’ of Britain.

Global citizens are continuing to rise and to reject cuts to public services and welfare.

This month, we have seen Mongolia and Finland’s workers marching on the streets against austerity measures and anti-workers’ law reforms.

The working class are impatient with cut to their wages and COSATU reiterates its total support to the Labour Party leader, to reject austerity measures against the masses.

COSATU congratulates Mr Corbyn.
