The Democratic Alliance in KwaZulu-Natal is buoyed by the latest polling published in the City Press, conducted by Victory Research which found that voting intentions in eThekwini put the DA at 33% and the ANC at 31%.

This is backed up by what the DA continues to see on the ground in response to our campaign. From every community we are in, the message is clear, voters want to see the ANC out of power and trust the DA to bring the change they so desperately need.

The DA will be intensifying its campaign in the metro leading up to the elections on 1 November. We want to give the residents of eThekwini every opportunity to vote for a party like the DA that can turn our city around.

Never before has the DA had the opportunity to become the largest party in eThekwini. This would allow a DA-led government to kick-start economic growth that creates jobs, end endemic corruption, halt cadre deployment and stop the politicisation of the Metro Police so that they can protect our communities.

This is only possible if every single voter comes out and votes for the DA in less than a week. We cannot allow the ANC to come back into government through the backdoor through coalitions with the EFF and smaller ANC-sympathetic parties.

This election is now a clear two-horse race between the DA and the ANC.

We are ready to get things done in eThekwini!
