Minister says party not only retained Ward 107 but grew in support from 82.36% to 94.07%

DA significantly increases support in Ward 107 Cape Town by-election

At today’s by-election in Cape Town, Ward 107, the DA has not only retained the ward, but also significantly increased its support from 82.36%, as attained at the 2021 Local Government Elections, to 94.07%.

This result unequivocally reaffirmed the trust voters have in the DA’s track record of excellent service delivery, not only in Cape Town but across the Western Cape.

We wish to congratulate the newly elected DA councillor, Jonathan Mills, on his tremendous victory. Jonathan brings with him a wealth of experience, a passion to serve the community, and promises to build on the successes already achieved in the ward.

The ward 107 by-election results are as follows:

DA – 94.07% - 4078 VOTES (2021 – 82.36% - 9355 votes)

ANC – 1.75% - 76 VOTES (2021 – 4.23% - 481 votes)

EFF – 1.57% - 68 VOTES (2021 – 3.88% - 441 votes)

CIP – 2.45% - 106 VOTES (2021 – 1.66% - 188 votes)

OHM – 0.16% - 7 VOTES (2021 – 0.00% - 0 votes)

% Poll – 21.42%

We wish to thank our activists, public representatives, and staff for the hard work they have done in the weeks leading up to the by-election, and especially their efforts on election day. We appreciate your dedication and tireless effort in furthering the DA difference.

Lastly, we would like to thank every voter in the Blouberg, Parklands, Sunningdale, and surrounds, who made this victory possible by voting for the only party that is fighting to save South Africa.
