The Department of State Security has posted a series of advertisements on YouTube defending the controversial Protection of State Information Bill. In the adverts various "citizens" speak to camera about how they have been able to exercise their rights, and access services, because the state has protected their information. The narrator then states "The Protection of State Information Bill is about getting serious, serious about your information, serious about looking after your hard won rights and freedoms, serious about positioning you for a better life and serious about securing South Africa."
