EFF MOURNS THE PASSING OF EUSEBIUS McKAISER

The Economic Freedom Fighters mourns the passing of veteran columnist, broadcaster and print journalist Eusebius McKaiser, who sadly passed away suddenly this afternoon. Tragically, Mckaiser passed away after a reported seizure, which was related to the condition of epilepsy.

Mckaiser, who has been a mainstay name in the journalism industry for many years has left a deep void in the discourse of South African politics as a commentator and an individual with a passion for the culture of debate.

He has played an important role in the various media outlets he has been able to make a contribution to and this includes contributions to outlets such as New York Times, Business Day, Mail & Guardian, Sunday Times, Sunday Independent, City Press, Newsweek International, BBC Focus on Africa, The New Republic, Financial Mail and Destiny Man.

As a Talkshow host at stations such as Radio 702, and as an avid columnist, McKaiser has always been able to be at the centre of raging discourse regardless of how polarising the matter may be, and yet been able to provide a platform where debate is fair and balanced.

McKaiser was not only a journalist, but he was an activist who believed in social justice and the rights of all human beings to be respected, particularly those of the most marginalised. His passing is a loss regardless of where one lies on the political spectrum.

The EFF mourns his passing as an important scholar, journalist and activist. May His Soul Rest In Perfect Peace.
