GOOD grows significantly in by-elections – Brett Herron

SG says party doubled and tripled its support from the 2019 national elections

GOOD welcomes more GOOD members as we grow significantly in by-elections

13 November 2019

Today GOOD contested three by elections in the Western Cape: Ward 4 in Matzikama, and Wards 19 and 82 in the City of Cape Town.

After only being established in January 2019, GOOD went up against old and established political parties with comparatively massive resources, the rate of GOOD's growth continues to astound and encourage.

The results confirm the steady movement to GOOD of people who traditionally voted for the old parties.

In Matzikama GOOD support has grown from 2.3 % in the 2019 National Elections to 5% today.

In the City of Cape Town, GOOD contested wards 19 and ward 82.

In Ward 19, GOOD support has grown from 6% in the 2019 National Elections to 20.60% today.

In Ward 82, GOOD support has grown from 6% in the 2019 National Elections to 13.03% today.

In all three wards which GOOD contested, the two major parties the DA and ANC lost votes. The drop in their results show that these are parties of the past and that people are looking for a GOOD and viable alternative.

GOOD is encouraged to be growing at a pace that will make it a dominant force in the 2021 local government elections.
