MEC Max condemns shooting of another Mitchells Plain Street committee member

The MEC for Community Safety, Advocate Lennit Max, has condemns the killing of another Mitchells Plain street committee member, Mr Mervyn Jacobs in the early hours of Saturday morning. He also expressed his condolences to the family of Jacobs.

Max said that by these callous attacks criminals want to instil fear amongst community members whom they know are jeopardising their illegal trade.

The criminals have now realised that they now have no where to hide since the community members of Mitchells Plain started to work together with the police and stand up against their evil activities.

He said that the police will not leave a stone unturned to find and arrest the killers of the slain street committee member.

Max requested that members of the public who have any information about the perpetrators to come forward and divulged it to the Mitchells Plain police.

Max said that he will ensure that the police will, together with the community of Mitchells Plain, continue their work to rid the streets of all criminals.
