Lwandle community punished for not voting DA - ANC

Zizi Kodwa says Cape Town administration undermining democracy and freedom of choice

LWANDLE COMMUNITY PUNISHED FOR NOT VOTING DA

The African National Congress condemns the eviction of people of Lwandle informal settlement by the Cape Town Metro without being given alternative accommodation as required by the law. It is evident that the eviction has been meted out as a punishment to this community for not voting for the DA. This is tantamount to undermining democracy and the freedom of choice by the DA Metro.

We have engaged the National Department of Transport who owns the piece of land and the Department of Human settlement to intervene in the plight of this community. We have been assured that teams have already been dispatched by the national government to investigate what options of intervention can be considered. This once more proves that the DA does no care for the poor.
