Public Protector is satisfied with progress on the implementation of "Against the Rules Too" report

The Public Protector Adv Thuli Madonsela is satisfied with the progress report she has received from different organs of state regarding the implementation of "Against the Rules Too" report. The Presidency has advised on the action it is taking to implement its part of the remedial action.

The Department of Public Works has also reported on the steps it is taking to implement the remedial action. The Public Protector met with the Senior Advisor to the Minister of Public Works Adv Boogie Khutsoane who was accompanied by Director Legal Services Chris Makgoba on 2 September 2011.

At the meeting, the Public Protector was given a plan of action and it was also indicated that Minister Mahlangu-Nkabinde has written to Cabinet Secretary requesting an opportunity to present her case as required under the remedial action. 

The Cabinet Secretary Dr Cassius Lubisi on 9 September 2011 sent a letter to the Public Protector indicating that the President is handling the matter.
