NUMSA special congress delayed until after mourning period is over

Union says dates have been shifted from the 13-16 December to the 17-20 December

NEW DATES FOR NUMSA SPECIAL NATIONAL CONGRESS: 17 - 20 DECEMBER 2013, BIRCHWOOD HOTEL AND OR TAMBO CONFERENCE CENTRE, BOKSBURG

Members of the media are hereby advised that the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) will NO longer hold its Special National Congress as from the 13-16 December 2013, as was previously communicated.

In respect of the 10 day national period of mourning, and eventual burial of President Nelson Mandela, on Sunday 15 December 2913, as was declared by President of the ANC and Republic comrade Jacob Zuma, we have rescheduled our Special National Congress, as indicated below:

DATE: 17 - 20 December 2013

VENUE: Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre, View Point Rd, Boksburg, Gauteng

All bona fide journalists that had previously applied for accreditation to cover and report on the Special National Congress remain accredited. A special arrangement remains available for those wishing to apply. They can apply via online:
