COSATU AND SADTU: JOINT MEDIA RELEASE

The leadership of COSATU and SADTU met on the 30 July 2012 and deliberated on all issues pertaining to education in the country as a societal matter including public utterances. The discussions were honest and self-critical.

The leadership collective expressed regret on public statements raising issues that should have been resolved internally.

They further agreed that COSATU and SADTU will work together in championing the rights of all our children to quality public education.

The meeting called on structures of our federation to avoid any further public engagement on the matter.
