Service delivery violence not our fault - ANC WCape

Songezo Mjongile says the DA's cheap politics on matter drips of opportunism

ANC rejects DA cheap blaming game

The Western Cape ANC outright rejects the DA's latest publicity stunt to try and pin service delivery violence on the ANC.

The DA's cheap politics drips of opportunism and its attempt to place the blame on the ANC is devoid of substance and truth! It is typical of the DA to shift the focus away from the real issues at the root of growing dissatisfaction with inferior service delivery in poor areas.

The ANC condemns all violence and damage to public and private property, as it has done repeatedly. The ANC stands for democratic means to raise issues and protest concerns.

The ANC therefore calls on the DA and Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille together with her mayoral committee to meet with residents about their concerns and to report on the steps taken by her administration to resolve the service delivery issues so far.

As the service delivery protests predates any perceived threat, it is clear the DA equally shares the blame for anything going wrong as the DA did nothing proactive thus far to meet communities and address concerns.
