Shaun Abrahams' silence baffling - COPE

Dennis Bloem says the NDPP needs to share with SA his vision for taking the NPA forward

SHAUN ABRAHAMS - THE INVISIBLE NPA HEAD

2 July 2015

Congress of the People is baffled by the silence of the newly appointed Head of the NPA, Mr Shaun Kevin Abrahams. He is probably so shocked at his sudden and unexpected elevation to the top position that he has not yet recovered his breath.

South Africa was also taken aback. On the 17 June the President suddenly announced the appointment of Mr Shaun Kevin Abrahams as the new Head of the NPA. The sudden haste raised many questions.

COPE believes it is time that he takes the nation into his confidence and shares with us his vision for taking the NPA forward and for tackling factionalism within it. He must come out of his cocoon.

COPE reiterates the need for Mr Shaun Abrahams to signal from the very outset that is indeed his own man willing to pursue justice without fear or favour. We also hope that he will see out his term without any controversy enmeshing him and leading to yet another massive golden handshake.

The Head of the NPA must show himself to the public.
