Super Zuma says new ANC KZN leadership to hit the ground running

There will be a focus on accelerating service delivery programmes, party says

The newly elected leadership of the ANC in KZN vowed to hit the ground running in responding to the challenges that face the communities. Following the successful 8th Provincial Conference of the ANC that was held at the Royal Showgrounds Pietermaritzburg over the weekend, leaders are now on the preparing for the upcoming local government.

ANC provincial secretary Super Zuma said the ANC leadership have commitment to ensure that all the needs of the people are full-filled. “We are not going to allow anyone who aimed to distract us from our clear programme of changing the lives of the people,” said Zuma. The successful conclusion of the provincial conference shows that the ANC is united and will continue to play its role as the leader of the society, he said. 

“We were encouraged by the disciplined conduct of delegates to the conference who were seized with the urgency of building unity and strengthening the organisation in the province to continue serving the people by accelerating radical socio-economic transformation. The ANC NEC which supervised the proceedings of the conference also applauded a high levels of discussions calculated to address what the conference identified as challenges facing the ANC in the province, said Zuma.

Now, the newly elected leadership aim to the intensification of the previous PEC work focusing on accelerating service delivery programme driven by the ANC, back to basics, social cohesion and a vibrant Imvuselelo Campaign programme of strengthening ANC branches as basic unit of the organisation. “A stage has been set for the new leadership to work towards greater unity of the ANC, its structures and the alliance in the province. We believe that the new leadership collective has the requisite skills and commitment to lead and grow the organisation.”

Zuma further commend the NEC members deployed in the province who worked tirelessly with the previous PEC to actualise this conference, while at the same time working towards the state of readiness of the province for the forthcoming local government elections.
