Tembisa Hospital manager promotes ANC

A Tembisa hospital manager has abused an internal management Whatsapp group to promote the ANC in the local government elections.

Corporate Manager Lina Mmatli posted the following ANC message on the Whatsapp group last week on Friday: “The TRUTH is, the ANC fought for your right to vote! Stay FREE, vote ANC! #stayfreevoteanc”

This is a clear abuse of state resources by a public servant who should not be seen to promote any political party in an election. It also contravenes the public servant code of conduct.

Staff at the hospital support different political parties and should not be bullied into supporting the ANC by a senior manager.

I have raised this matter with Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu and expect to see disciplinary action against Ms Mmati.
