Tshwane ambulance strike putting lives in danger - Jack Bloom

DA MPL says situation particularly bad in more rural areas, including Hammanskraal, Temba, Mabopane, Cullinan and Bronkhorstrspruit

TSHWANE AMBULANCE STRIKE

Emergency ambulance staff have gone on strike today in the Tshwane area, paralysing services for people who need urgent transport to hospitals.

I have received reports that the situation is particularly bad in the more rural areas, including Hammanskraal, Temba, Mabopane, Cullinan and Bronkhorstrspruit.

Ambulance staff have a variety of pay grievances that they say have been ignored by the Gauteng Health Department for many years.

Strike organisers say that their protest action will spread to other parts of the province.

Gauteng Emergency services do not seem to have a back-up plan for this essential service.

This strike action is putting many lives in danger and must be resolved as soon as possible.
