We do not support calls for Pansy Tlakula's resignation - IFP

Party says Bantu Holomisa's letter to that effect did not carry its support

IFP SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON TLAKULA

The IFP wishes to place on record that a recent letter drafted by Mr Bantu Holomisa, leader of the UDM, on behalf of the Multi-Party Forum, calling for the immediate resignation of Adv. Pantsy Tlakula, did not carry the support of the IFP.

At no meeting of the IFP National Council or National Executive Committee was such a resolution passed.

We therefore see the IFP's inclusion in such a call as nothing more as mischievous.

We remain of the viewpoint that Adv Tlakula, in the interest of free, fair and stable elections, should be allowed to stay at the helm of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) for now.

Statement issued by Ms Sibongile Nkomo MP, IFP Secretary-General, April 8 2014
